1 Ix

Based in Warsaw, 1-IX is a distributed internet exchange connecting 280 networks, with a peak traffic volume of 4.75 Tbit/s. Its points of presence, spread across 12 countries in Europe, Asia and the United States, are linked by a redundant switching fabric. Poland has seven, Bulgaria four and the Netherlands three. The infrastructure comprises 234 100G ports, 123 10G ports and 40 40G ports. A single connection is sufficient to exchange traffic and L2 (VLAN) transport with all members, via route servers or private peering. Internet Peering ports range from 1G to 400G, and L2 transport is available between any two points on the network. 1-IX also provides 10 Gbit/s IP Transit on a flat-rate basis, DDoS protection and blackholing. In terms of cloud connectivity, the operator offers Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute and Google Cloud Connect, both verified by the providers, as well as AWS Direct Connect on request. Free local Internet Exchanges (IXs) round off the offering for hosting providers, operators and content platforms.
