Bcix
Internet service providers, telecoms operators, cloud providers, IT companies, NGOs and public institutions use BCIX to exchange their IP traffic at a regional level in Berlin-Brandenburg. A non-profit association founded in 2002, BCIX operates a proprietary peering platform spread across 11 points of presence in neutral data centres in Berlin, such as NTT BER1 and BER2, AtlasEdge, 3U Telecom, CarrierColo and Lumen. It has over 130 members according to the Internet Society and handles traffic of nearly 1 Tbit/s. It is a member of Euro-IX and RIPE NCC.
Direct peering is available on 1G, 10G and 100G ports. The SubPeer service allows a member to share its bandwidth with other networks, whilst pVLAN provides a dedicated link between two ports. PNIs connect two data centres with dedicated capacity, without the need for a dedicated transport infrastructure. DE-CIX Connect provides access to DE-CIX Frankfurt from Berlin. These interconnection services meet the needs of networks in Berlin and eastern Germany.
