Chix-ch
Spread across several data centres in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the CHIX internet exchange point is accessible, amongst others, at Interxion ZUR1, Datawire ZG01 in Zug, Colozuri, NTT/e-shelter, Equinix, Green in Lupfig and Dielsdorf, as well as at the DCS and DCE sites in Liechtenstein, with Frauenfeld available on request. According to the Internet Society, it has around 70 members. It is run by a non-profit association under Swiss law, based in Frauenfeld, which aims to facilitate its members’ internet access and connectivity. Any organisation or individual with an ASN and their own IP space may join, provided they keep their RIR records up to date.
Ports range from 100 Mbit/s to 100 Gbit/s. 100M and 1G connections are free of charge; 10G costs 250 CHF per year, as does the membership fee, and each port incurs a one-off set-up fee of 250 CHF. Redundant route servers ensure automated and filtered peering, whilst direct peering agreements remain bilateral between members. CHIX also offers transport and peering services to and from Switzerland for operators, hosting providers and corporate networks.
