Fogixp
The FogIXP Europe network is based on a distributed fabric: three central switches in Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Zurich, connected via Layer 2 and optical wavelengths, supplemented by extension switches. Launched in early 2022 by iFog GmbH, it now connects more than 300 networks, ranging from small organisations to major content and access providers. The core points of presence are located in Zurich, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and London, in data centres such as NTT, Interxion and ColoZüri, with Vienna, Barcelona and Norway serving as extensions. FogIXP also operates local platforms in Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Zurich.
The service takes the form of a Layer 2 peering LAN, with three route servers and BGP communities to control announcements. 1 and 10 GbE ports are free at core sites until further notice, and 40G and 100G ports are available on request in Zurich. Membership requires a public ASN and at least one IPv6 prefix, and no SLA is provided for the ports. iFog also offers colocation and dedicated servers in Zurich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London for content networks and operators across Europe.
