Hurricane Electric's international network connects more than 150 points of presence spread across approximately 100 cities in North America, Europe, Asia, South America, the Middle East, and Africa. Its backbone, built entirely on direct DWDM circuits rather than third-party MPLS, forms redundant rings between core routers equipped with 400 Gbps links and multiple 100 Gbps links, providing a self-healing architecture that minimizes single points of failure. With more than 34,000 BGP sessions established with over 10,500 distinct networks via more than 320 major exchange points, Hurricane Electric ranks among the world’s largest IPv4 and IPv6 backbone operators. Its IP Transit offering provides native dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 access on a single port, a full BGP table at no additional cost, and ports ranging from Gigabit Ethernet to 100 Gigabit Ethernet in data centers such as Equinix, Digital Realty, and Telehouse. Hurricane Electric also offers Layer 2 Ethernet transport services with Jumbo frames, RPKI routing security, and colocation solutions in its own data centers in Fremont and San Jose, California.
