M-net

BMW, Siemens, Infineon, TÜV Süd, Kuka, and the Bundesagentur für Arbeit are among the major clients served by M-net, a regional telecom operator founded in 1996 in Munich and strengthened by mergers with NEFkom in Nuremberg and AugustaKom in Augsburg. Its proprietary fiber-optic network, spanning several thousand kilometers and built using a highly resilient ring architecture, now serves more than half of Bavaria’s households as well as over 150 municipalities, extending into the Ulm metropolitan area and part of the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse. The network’s backbone, the “Bayernring,” connects Bavaria’s major metropolitan areas to the DE-CIX exchange node in Frankfurt via an all-optical infrastructure capable of carrying up to 800 Gbit/s on a single wavelength. M-net offers businesses ultra-high-speed fiber Internet access, multi-site interconnection solutions, and fixed-line and mobile telephony services supported by a redundant DWDM infrastructure. The offering also includes digital television and HD packages, with on-site technical support for real estate companies and local governments in Bavaria.
