Ouest.network

Based in Nantes, the Ouest.Network association has been operating an independent and neutral Internet exchange point (GIX) since 2020, hosted within the Cogent and Etix data centers in the Nantes metropolitan area. This interconnection hub covers the Pays de la Loire, Brittany, and Centre regions, as well as neighboring areas, and brings together local digital players—hosting providers, telecom operators, Internet service providers, and IT service providers—who wish to exchange traffic as close to their region as possible rather than systematically routing it through more distant exchange points. Its service is based on a peering policy open to all networks, enabling direct interconnection between regional operators, hosting providers, and member data centers within the same hub. In this way, Ouest.Network helps reduce latency and keep traffic within the region, while developing gateways to other national exchange points, thereby enhancing the resilience of corporate networks in western France.
