Proximus
Proximus is Belgium’s incumbent telecommunications operator; the group also includes Proximus Luxembourg (the Tango and Telindus Luxembourg brands) and Telindus Nederland.
Its international carrier operations are handled by BICS, a wholly owned subsidiary of the group, which—since late 2024—has formed the entity Proximus Global together with Telesign and Route Mobile. In the Belgian market, Proximus is deploying an open gigabit network combining fiber optics and 5G, with fiber coverage reaching 42% of the country—connecting 2.6 million households and businesses—with a long-term goal of 80%. This open network is currently used by 34 third-party telecom providers under fair terms.
Internationally, BICS operates a 100 Gbit/s DWDM fiber-optic network, complemented by stakes in some 20 submarine cables, more than 143 points of presence, and 700 direct connections.
The Proximus NXT offering covers enterprise networks, SD-WAN, and wholesale solutions dedicated to partner operators for critical infrastructure.
