France
France occupies a strategic position at the heart of Western Europe, offering privileged access to European, African, and Middle Eastern markets. With Paris as its main hub, the country has a significant concentration of data centers in the ĂŽle-de-France region, complemented by emerging markets in Marseille (gateway to Africa and Asia via Mediterranean submarine cables) and Lyon. The French infrastructure benefits from a largely decarbonized energy mix, enabling operators to offer competitive electricity with a reduced carbon footprint. The country hosts several major Internet exchange points, including France-IX and Equinix Paris, ensuring dense connectivity across the continent. The ecosystem includes a variety of offerings ranging from unit racks to private suites for enterprise deployments. The French regulatory framework is in line with the European GDPR, with local certifications such as SecNumCloud for sensitive workloads.

Climate
Temperate oceanic to continental climate depending on the region. Average temperatures of 3-8°C in winter and 18-25°C in summer. Climatic conditions allow for the use of free cooling for a significant part of the year, particularly in the north of the country and during the cooler months. Summer heat waves can temporarily impact PUE. Moderate humidity, generally favorable for data center operations.
Transport
Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly are the main international air hubs. Marseille-Provence and Lyon-Saint Exupéry offer direct European connections. An efficient TGV network connects major cities. A dense network of motorways (A1, A6, A7) facilitates access to sites. Marseille enjoys a unique position as the landing point for numerous international submarine cables.
